Known as Canada's Caribbean when it comes to scuba diving, we are known for our fantastic fresh-water diving. Many interesting shipwrecks - from freighters to schooners - are found below the clear depths of the St. Lawrence River. Among those wrecks are the Rothesay, the H.P. Bigelow, Lillie Parsons, Robert Gaskin, Muscallonge, Fleur Marie, Conestoga and the John B. King. Learn more about these popular dive sites.
Diving along the St. Lawrence River has gained in popularity and earned high praise because of the clarity of the water and the lack of thermocline. Wrecks lie in depths varying from 7.6 to 42 metres (25 to 140 feet) offering beginners and skilled divers many opportunities to discover what lies beneath. Many sites are also used for doing certifications.
Several local diving shops and clubs along the St. Lawrence River offer equipment supplies and rentals, along with dive packages and tours.
