Drive, fly, take the train or come by boat.
Leeds Grenville is situated between the larger centres of Kingston and Ottawa, is close to Toronto and Montreal, a few hours from Syracuse, New York State, and less than a seven-hour drive from New York City. Driving here is easy with the major thoroughfare Highway 401 running east-west across the Counties, with links to the U.S. and Highway 416 linking us to the Nation's Capital.
If you're not wanting to travel by car, getting here is easy by train with the main VIA Rail line running through, by bus (Megabus or Coach Canada) airplane or boat. VIA Rail has several stops per day in Brockville and limited stops in Gananoque. Two airports are located within the Counties, with another in Ottawa just an hour or so away. The nearest U.S. airports are Ogdensburg and Syracuse in upper New York state, which can be accessed via two International Bridges.
If visiting sites in and out of the 1000 Islands on both sides of the border, be aware of requirements for travelling each way. Canada Border Services Agency, and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol websites and friendly staff will answer all of your questions.
